As the U.S. slashes foreign aid, Syrian civil society is at risk of collapse. The networks that have fought for justice, protected civilians, and provided life-saving aid for over a decade are now struggling to survive. In response, Syrian activists Waad al-Kateab and Hamza al-Kateab (Action For Sama), Hazem Rihawi (The White Helmets), and Raya Homsi (The Syria Campaign) are traveling to Washington, D.C., and New York for urgent meetings with decision-makers. Their mission: to push for sustained support for justice, advocacy, and rebuilding efforts in Syria.
A Powerful Call to Action: For Sama Screenings & Discussions
As part of their visit, they will host two screenings of For Sama, Waad al-Kateab’s Oscar-nominated documentary about the devastating siege of Aleppo. These screenings serve as a stark reminder of what is at stake if the world turns its back on Syria.
